GENERAL INFORMATION

Egekont Container Transport S.A. began operations in 1990 as an Arkas Holding company. Beginning in 1995, the company was the Turkish representative of Yang Ming, a shipping company from the Far East, and since 1996 it has been representing Grimaldi Group, a multi-national, multi-functional Ro-Ro transporter. Yang Ming and Arkas formed a new partnership and established the company Yang Ming Anatolia in 2009, so Egekont has only been providing service for Grimaldi since then. With 120 Ro-Ro vessels in its fleet, Grimaldi Group is the parent company for Grimaldi Lines, ACL, Minoan, Finnlines and Malta Motorways of the Sea. Egekont offers a full range of services to import and export customers between the ports of Izmir, Mersin, Gemlik and Derince and the following ports through various services offered by Grimaldi Group: the Mediterranean, Europe, the Adriatic, the Baltic Sea, North and West Africa, and North and South America. With 15 years of experience and regular weekly service, Egekont offers the best transport solutions for shipping and handling automobiles and commercial vehicles (especially new vehicles), buses, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, trailers, industrial machinery and all kinds of cargo.
 
Grimaldi’s vessels transport 40% of the automobile volume and 50% of the industrial machinery volume in Turkey thanks to Egekont’s agency services.
